The Senate Commerce Committee FAA Reauthorization includes the bipartisan Boxer-Snowe Airline Passengers Bill of Rights, giving passengers the option to safely de-plane after three hours on the tarmac. The Committee is scheduled to take up the measure on TUESDAY, JULY 21 at 2:30 PM in SR-253, Room 253 of the Russell Senate Office Building.
WE NEED YOU TO CALL OR EMAIL THE MEMBERS OF THE COMMITTEE TO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR THESE IMPORTANT AIRLINE PASSENGER PROTECTIONS.
Urge the Senators to SUPPORT the Airline Passengers Bill of Rights as contained in S. 1451, the Federal Aviation Administration Air Transportation Modernization and Safety Improvement Act.

Thank you for your work to change legislation for flyers on planes waiting for takeoffs! But 3 hours is too long to wait once on a plane! Many folks have medical issues and this does not suffice! Two hours is plenty of time to wait on a plane before takeoff.
Please consider this seriously. Thank you!
Thank you for your legislation to consider passengers who are found waiting on their flight for hours and hours before takeoff. I just watched FOX News (noontime) WA state. Yet 3 hours for flyers is too long! Way too long! Folks especially with medical issues and folks with young children, etc.--this legislation should be reconsidered, in my opinion, to change TO MAXIMUM OF 2 HOURS wait then let ALL passengers off the plane! Then passengers can decide on refund or transfer to another flight, etc.

I definitely agree with the people indicating that 3 hours is too long! As a person with medical problems, I could be dead before I ws let out of Tarmac Prison.
