Congress travels on private planes or 1st class. They have no clue what it's like to be an average American, nor do they care to find out. Commoners we are!
If the airline knows of a delay problem before boarding, passengers should be allowed to wait for repairs and clearance in the terminal, and not be kidnapped in secrecy to wait on the plane indefinitely.
This happened to me (again) on US Airways 1459, 6/07/07. The "substantial delay" announcement was made immediately once all were boarded, prior to departure time.
Let us wait in the terminal!!!
3 times I have been on planes that stayed on the taxi way until cleared. I also was on a plane that was called back just b4 we took off brake fluid was seen leaking they worked on the plane once again we got ready to take off again the plane was called back.
I have bumped and have had flights cancelled. I now drive when ever I can.
